Angela is one half of The B-Plot Girls, a hilarious musical that examines the role of women in tv storylines. It’s a satirical work that has had an upgrade for FRINGEWORLD 2022 and we can’t wait to see what’s changed. We caught up with Angela to find out what it’s all about.
What is your show about?
Our show is a musical dark comedy about the experience and expectations of living as a woman in a society where image is everything, and about the intersection of feminism, capitalism and social media.
Favourite part of the show, no spoilers!
One word: Lizardmen.
These are unprecedented times, how does it feel to be a performer in 2022?
It’s a bit terrifying and a bit exciting! I’m sure performers and audiences alike have similar anxieties about plans being canceled and things being upended again, but there’s also this sense of things getting better and moving forward – touch wood!
Apart from your show, what other shows would you recommend?
All the shows from Umbrella Works (our production company) are looking fantastic, there are some returns and some repeat shows, all of which I would recommend checking out! Other than that honestly there’s so much to choose from, I would say choosing a few shows at random and reading about something you haven’t heard of before, you might be pleasantly surprised!
Describe your show in 3 words:
Zesty, satanic fun.
You can catch The B-Plot Girls in action at the Girls School until 6th February 2022. TICKETS
