What is your show all about?
Once Hollywood’s highest paid actress, Marlene Dietrich dies penniless. Kabaret Dietrich explores her fascinating life through song and story and is reimagined through her famous character Lola Lola in the classic 1930s film ‘The Blue Angel’, directed by German-American director Joseph von Sternberg. Set in Weimar Berlin, the show explores the alluring enigma of Dietrich and the trials of an ageing film star, from her early beginnings as a musician, an under-recognised career in cabaret and theatre, through to her emergence as a shining legend of the silver screen. Featuring a repertoire of cabaret classics, including “Falling In Love Again”, “Illusions, “La Vie En Rose” accompanied by piano, accordion (Craig Dalton) and musical saw (Nikki Nouveau). Delivered in German, French and English.
