Michael Griffiths is the Pete half of LIVVY AND PETE a show celebrating the music of Peter Allen and Olivia Newton-John. He answered our ‘Five With Fringe’ questions ahead of the show.
Describe your show in 3 words.
Livvy and Pete
Fun. Aussie. Camp.
What is your show all about?
Its a sincere and festive celebration of two Aussie icons; they’re as Aussie as Skippy or Vegemite. It’s also a joyous sing-a-long – sometimes when we perform I Still Call Australia Home it raises the roof.
Favourite place for a post-show drink?
I’m a big fan of the dim sum place hiding behind the pretend laundromat. What’s the name again? Longtime fan of La Cholita anywhere where there’s late night food.
How would you describe your FW experience?
This will be my fourth fringe and it’s always the highlight of my touring year. Perth audiences are there to have a good time and are just the right type of rowdy.
Apart from your show, what other shows would you recommend?
I’m a sucker for cabaret so will definitely check out Hans: Main Camp (what a great title!), Tomas Ford, Exposing Edith and Gillian Cosgriff.
