REBECCA MCMAHON answered our “Five With Fringe” series ahead of her show SYNCOPE
Describe your show in 3 words:
Surreal, Visceral, Acrobatic
What is your show all about?
‘Syncope’ is the medical term for fainting, and so the show follows a person’s experience as they lose and then regain consciousness. Syncope is woven through a series of stunning aerial and acrobatic acts with each act representing a different sensation experienced or change in the body such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, head spins and body twitches.
Favourite place for a post-show drink?
The Fringe World artist bar is definitely a favourite!
How would you describe your FW experience?
Fringe World is an intense but incredibly rewarding experience. It allows us to create new and experimental works and helps us to connect with new audiences. At the end of “Fringe-Mas” we are always exhausted but creatively fulfilled.
Apart from your show, what other shows would you recommend?
To explore the fun and sexy side to circus, check out our other shows ‘Sinsuality 3: Noir’ and ‘Vogue: The Madonna Circus’. We are also very excited about seeing the contemporary circus shows “Sediment” and “A Simple Space”.
