Nurse Georgie Carroll has given up her day job to do stand up comedy – sort of. Here she answers our “Five With Fringe” series.
Describe your show in 3 words:
Loose / brutal / relatable
What is your show all about?
Joy. My dad doesn’t die at the 45 minute mark or anything – I just always want people to leave way happier than they rocked up.
Favourite place for a post-show drink?
How would you describe your FW experience?
It’s the absolute opposite of my home life, its good selfish and hedonistic. I struggle to integrate when I go back home, my kids are asking where their soccer shorts are and I am like, ”I am way to famous for this,” for a couple of weeks.
Apart from your show, what other shows would you recommend?
This is such an easy question – watch anything and you won’t regret it. I am a HUGE fan of PhatCave – it’s where the big acts go to cut loose at the end of a night of gigs. Every show is a one off. Amateur mentalist shows are also a pet passion of mine – there is a point in the evolution of anything amazing where it just needs an audience to help it learn how to get there. For every massive, well advertised big name show you watch, take a punt on an unknown and just rock the Fringe.
